"Okay it is still at 12pm, I need some hours to build this amazing house. Wait, it is at 5pm right now. Fair enough I will finish it after I create my lovely sims. OH crap.. it is at 10pm now for real? Okay I will end it by waiting the kids graduate from university." aaannd... I finally close my laptop at 1am :)
Have you ever spent your whole day by playing Sims? I bet you would did the same way like me because that game is super addicting. I mostly spent my whole day by playing sims. Either it is for building a house, creating sims, making lots of generations, or trying some things new which I never knew it before.
My only one question is, can my life as perfect as sims I create? The answer is definetely NO
Back when I was in primary school until elementary school, I like to play doll, barbie, houses, and cooking. and when I turned into senior high school, I started to design some houses through books. Once it finished, I sometimes played it by myself in my free time. Talking to myself alone, putting their name on it, and creating my own story as if I was there. I know it sounds hilarious. But I love it. The interesting part was, everytime I watched some good movies or series, I like to play it back but I changed the story a bit and sometimes designed the houses again. It took one day or two days if I didn't really want to finish it at that time.
I knew Sims 2 when I was in my second grade of senior high school. My friend introduced me and I was totally into it. I like to bring my laptop to school just to play Sims in a break time with him. Sometimes he played to my house to play Sims or watched some good movies.
What is the interesting part of playing Sims?
I was playing Sims 2 before but I am playing Sims 3 now. If you play it more often, you will know the difference between those. Both Sims 2 and Sims 3 have their own charms. So I couldn't choose one. But when it comes to traveling and graphic, I'll highly recommend you to play Sims 3. You will no longer wait for loading anymore if Sims want to go everywhere.
I always use cheats when I played Sims (I mean duh.. how could you even build a nice house without much money?). Mostly motherlode and make the needs static. I don't know why, maybe because I want a perfect life, so I barely set the bad traits for my sim. I want my sim get along with people pretty well. I want my sim have a perfect career and life.
Bad traits that I usually pick are:
Evil, Daredevil, Insane, Snob, Unlucky, and Over Emotional
When it comes to create Sims, I always set what I want to make to my sim. But in the end, I make my sims could do everything. She can gardening, she expert in science, she is pretty good at cooking, she is good at athletic, and many more. and.. I'm more to choose my sim to be a fairy than human because she will die longer.
Believe it or not, playing Sims taught me many things in my life. Sims game is like playing dollhouse or what I used to played when I was a kid but in more modern way and in more aesthetic look.
What I learned from Sims:
- If you study harder, you will graduate faster.
- Learning skills early in life will give you a head start in most careers. You will never know when it will happened but it will come and never let the opportunity wasted.
- If you go out, chat with anyone else through phone or laptop, meet people, or throw a party, it will definetely help your networking skill and relationship status to anyone whom you talk with.
- If you are not good at something and be asked to fix it, you will fail. For example, your laptop is broken and you had an idea in your mind to fix it by your own self then you will be electrocuted. But eitherway, you will learn something from it that you need to improve your skill in that area. This is what I was talking about before. Upgrade your skill then it'll be used someday.
- If there is a challenge or opportunity, take it. It will improve your skill and eventhough it is not, it will add the memory in your life.
- If you get a job. Either it is in cooking area, designing, and many more. The skills bar would shown about what you need to improve so that you could get promotion faster. The job description and skills are closely to what it is in the real life.
- Time is precious. Use your time wisely or you will regret it when you are old.
- Having a profession and having a job are something different. But both of them are fun if you have a passion on it. If you choose a profession, you will be more likely interact with people, you work time is not like a normal people, but you have a good salary depends on your skill, and all you need to do is only to improve your skill to get a promotion ( no need to build a relationship because you are working with yourself). If you choose a job, you will get a good salary depends on your skill, you can retire if you already become eldery people, you can get a bonus salary if you are good enough at your job, and you have to build a good relationship with your boss and co workers. It always better to improve your skill so that you get a promotion faster.
- Having good work relationships with your boss and colleagues is important to your career.
- Building and designing the house make you to practice about how you want to do with your house or dream house in the future.
- Traveling is not only fun. But you get to know their culture, their food, their uniqueness, their food recipe, and many more. For example, if you go to France, you will know that their greeting is kiss on the cheek.
- It is always nice to have much money. You can travel, you can buy many furnitures, you can buy games that can improve your skills, you literally can do everything to improve yourself and makes yourself comfortable only at home. But... if you don't have enough money, you can go to any places that can improve your skills freely. The most important thing is, your skills improved so money and opportunities will come faster.
- If you are no longer keep in touch with your best friends, they will become strangers.
- Life is too short to do everything. You do need to set priorities. It's not possible to do everything, and do it well.
- People are motivated by different things. Some people are motivated primarily by relationships, whereas others are primarily motivated by the pursuit of knowledge, or a wish to make money. These different motives can drive a lot of day-to-day wants and desires. In conclusion, it's better to try to understand explicitly different people's personality and trait.
We all spend the extra hours we have of free time playing this amazing game, but have you ever learned anything from it? I think there are many things that I could learn from Sims that I could write a lot into this post. It is sometimes surprising where wisdom and inspiration can come from, but if you keep your mind open to learning new things you’ll begin to see the world in a whole new light. As we only have one life in this real world, let's use our time wisely.
